Formlabs 3D Printer
Edmonds, WA

Formlabs 3D PrinterTraditionally, dentists relied on laboratories to create crowns, veneers, bridges, and more. The process was not only time-consuming but also incredibly costly. Technological advancements in the field of dentistry, such as the use of 3D printers, have revolutionized dental practice, creating a smooth, accurate, and efficient workflow.

It is important to keep up with technological advancements in the field of medical and dental sciences to bring the best possible treatment to the patients. At Edmonds Dental Studio, we aim to create an efficient and smooth workflow process that is beneficial for our clients and us. Thus, Dr. Hasan Dbouk uses Formlabs 3D printers to print highly accurate 3D models of intraoral and computerized tomography (CT) scans.

5 Simple Steps

The Formlabs 3D Printer shortens a very lengthy and time-consuming production process to a few simple steps.
•  Scan – The first step is to collect intraoral scans of the patients dental structure. The dentist will then send the scans to a design station or dental CAD software.
•  Design - The second step is to begin the design phase. You can create design models, restorative dentistry fixtures such as crowns, and other restorative and orthodontic parts.
•  Print – The technician can directly integrate design software supporting STL export with the Formlabs 3D Printers. They send the design to the Formlabs 3D printer into a Pre-Form Print Preparation Setup.
•  Prepare – the preparation step involves washing and drying the printed parts. The last step in the preparation process is post-curing the printed parts. We use the FormWash and FormCure solutions, which further simplifies the 3D printing process.
•  Use – Once the technician cures the parts, we use them to create crowns and manufacture orthodontic appliances such as retainers and clear aligners.
